Pasta Dish

Inside this edition: Is one of my favorite tasty pasta dishes I make with my Instant Pot.

Hey y’all! It’s me again – your girl Rainey trying to make life simple and quick for YOU – my tribe – The Rainey Crew. During the Christmas holiday my husband gave me an Instant Pot.  Certainly, I will be the first to tell you that no husband should give his wife an appliance for Christmas, however my husband can get away with that because I am a practical person and I truly appreciated it.

Because he knows I am not a fan of cooking it is always a great idea to give me anything to simplify my life. The Instant Pot is the personification of simplification.  I love it. With the Instant Pot I can make a great tasty pasta dish with just three ingredients.

I know I said it before, but I do love my Instant Pot, and here’s why:

  • First, the clean up cannot be beat, as most recipes I make require the use of just the one pot.
  • Second, cooking tasks such as sauteeing, or browning of meats can be done in the same pot. This is great if the recipe requires multiple steps.
  • Third, an uncomplicated meal takes approximately 30 minutes of cook time. Ten minutes to come to pressure and twenty minutes to cook. All depends on what you are cooking. Likewise, less time means less electricity.

I want to share with you my tasty pasta recipe you will love that I use with my Instant Pot and never fails.

Great Tasty Pasta Dish

Ingredients

1 lb Pasta of your choice.  (I usually use Barilla pasta that I buy at BOXED)

I jar Pasta sauce ( again I use Barilla as a personal preference of my son)

16 frozen meatballs ( I get my Italian meatballs from Sam’s Club)

3 cups of water

Optional: 1 -2 cups of Mozarella Cheese.

Salt to season

Instructions

Combine pasta, water, salt, pasta sauce, and meatballs in your Instant Pot.  Tip: I like to mix the ingredients around to make sure the pasta is not  sitting on the bottom without liquid touching it.  The Instant Pot tends to give a “burn alert” if the water is insufficient.

Select “Pressure Cook”  and select 8 no more than 9 minutes as your setting otherwise your pasta will be overcooked.

As soon as the time is up perform a Quick Release.  Once all the pressure is released open your Pot, and if you want a cheesy meal,  immediately add your Mozarella Cheese and mix it in.  After the cheese is thoroughly mixed in and melted it is ready to serve.  This tastes just as great with or without cheese.

To keep it nutritious serve with a salad or any green veggie of your choice.

After it is all eaten or you have put away the leftovers clean-up your pot with warm soapy water.
